This is where my heart is… This is where I belong… And here it is I shall stay… This must be home.
Last night was amazing. As we danced and sang and took our photographs we recorded a moment. Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Bootie LA was an extraordinary event.
The culture found at the Bootie LA events cannot be found elsewhere. As a member of the collective group of photographers, known as Shutter Tribe, I have been blessed that over the course of the year I have had the opportunity to attend Bootie LA events on a regular basis. Bootie LA is not just entertainment. I have been welcomed into this scene as though I were family. I am grateful for the friendships and kinships that I have come to know from the patrons to the DJs and R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance).
As a California transplant I am still trying to put down my roots, find out where I belong. In LA I feel like just another face in the crowd. At Bootie LA, I am a member of a community that knows no boundaries; of a community that is just as revolutionary as the music. Initially, I was impressed by the music sound and clarity that can be heard thumping and bumping through the night air as I walked up to the club. The music combines genres that span over a myriad generations and styles. The unique style of mash-up music you will hear can be duplicated but you will never find another event that can compete with the environment to that of Bootie LA. Bootie LA is an awesome event in which a group of talented people come together to create a dynamic atmosphere. To this I would like to give my thanks to my extended family and open an opportunity for new family members to join us.
